Amphenol Harsh Environment products
Amphenol's rugged series is a line of harsh environment connectors designed specifically for the demanding Industrial and InfoCom applications. This rugged connector ID series consists of an all metal die cast shell that can accept a variety of connector styles. The receptacle incorporates a spring loaded environmental cover that protects and seals the receptacle when unmated. Also when mated this cover acts as a positive latching device with the plug connector. Under shock and vibration conditions this connector maintains its water proof characteristic and IP67 rating.
Various connector types can be incorporated within this robust connector housing such as ruggedized RJ45 and ruggedized USB. Provisions are made to ruggedize and water proof fiber optic and RF connectors. The most common harsh environment fiber optic connectors that can be provided are the LC and MTRJ types. Rugged RF connector types are the SMA and BNC series.
